Jason the hero

Jason who was born in the place where the war took place and who was raised in a cave and lost his throne buy his uncle. He goes on a quest to get his throne back. An imposible quest. Which is to find the Golden Fleece. Of course it was too dangerous to go himself so he goes with some crews. In Greece, they have a stone that has the crews name on it. Hercules the god of Zeus was there too.

Watch the videos. How accurately have they represented the characters from the myths you have read?

I think the Youtube wideos weren't that true because it had some created abillities like the black magic of Medusa and some of them have some different chartacteristics. So it wasn't that accurate as the video we watched.

What events in the story of Jason and the Argonauts do you believe to be factual? Support your answer with evidence.

When we watch the movie in class they had some facts that tells that the myth of Jason was took place in a real place like the place that the real Jason was living which was found recently. Also the stone again and the Mediterian sea where the voyage took place.

But the myth continues on were the crews were real? Was Medusa real?

Curiousty in Orphan Boy and Pandora's box

Curiousty in Orphan boy and Pandora's box warns us that curiousty isn't always good. For wxample, in Orphan boythe old man was curioues about how the boy do something like that so he followed him and made him leave and lose trust. Also in Pandora's box, she became curioused and opened it and made all those bad things that Zeus sent for revenge on Premetheus came out. She regrets but well TOO BAD!! It already happened.

Common Elements Of Creation Myth

In every myth there must be common elements when we read it. How do people think about the same ideas? Where did myth come from? There are common elements such as human made out of clay or mud, supreme ruler, sacrifices and the chaos. When we read some myth around the world they are always related to religions and culture. Like in the Greek myth the god makes people by clay. I think I saw the exact same information in the bible too. But not every myth say that people were made out of clay or mud some say that humans were made out of tear of a god or blood. There are some sacrifices to make thing like in the Pan-Ku story which is Chinese myth. He scarifies to make things and after he died humans suffer. “Before anything existed there were the darkness, water and the great god Bumba.” This is the very first line of African creation myth. As you see there is a word call darkness or chaos. Why did people think that there was always the darkness or chaos? They also can say that there was at least sun and moon. I think every myth is come from someone’s curiosity. They might have been curious about who created them also religions too.

MY NAME

My name Dong-Hyunk which was given by a monk (who I hate because they're bald and believe in Buddhism)has no background stories. Not at all. But it has a meaning. Dong means east and I think Hyuk means the sun rising which means the rising sun from the east and since sun is important to everyone, that becomes I have to be important to everyone like Ban Gi Mun. The person whose head of the UN. I think he's important to everyone because he works for enviornment, peace, etc. So I have a life long mission which is to be a person that everyone needs me. But I'm not going to compelete the mission because I have other dreams.

My English name Brian is come from a word brave. It sounds smart and intelligent so I also can be thinked as a smart students which is not very true. I got this name Brian from an English Academy in Korea. I went there to sign up and before I take the test the teacher who was in charge of me asked me what my English name was so I told her ET because before I went to academy called ETBT with my cousin and since we didn't have any English name my name became Et and my cousin's name becasme BT. After she heard it she seemed to be little dissapointed and opened a huge book called " ENGLISH NAME" My mom looked at it and she choosed 3 best ones. Edward, Bob and Brian. The teacher explained the meanings and my mom's best name was Brian which doesn't rhyme with my sir name "Im".

I hate to be called as Dong or Brain. I can bare with Dong but not brain because I got teased by my name in 4th grade and still sometimes today. Now I can go with it but when they start to keep asying my name as brain my devil which took more than 5/6 of my mind order me to do something bad to them like violence in school. I liked to be called as I'm Brian because that means every body is Brian.

Even though some students call me as brain or Dong, now I have power to tease them back. Dong-Hyuk and Brian, for me they are the best names. Also when we mix the two names meanings it becomes the brave rising sun in the east!!

Octomom vs. One-Child Policy

Today we wrote our thoughts about Octomom and One-Child Policy on sticky notes and posted them on the board. The average to the thinking was middle. I also Put mine at the middle of the board because I thought every moms has right to have as many as children they want to if they have enough money or source to raise them because it costs alot of money. They can save some money by wearing clothes that their brothers or sisters used to wear but the occuplets are all same age so it will cost much more than others. Also if I agree with the one-child policy, it will be also not fair to the moms who wants 2 or 3 children. So my conclusion is that between 1 to 4 children is best but when a mom give birth to like more than 6 or 7 I think the doctors need to give advice to them.

One-Child Policy

Today we discussed about 9-6-3 we did for homework. We read a story about One-Child Policy in China and wrote 9 things dicovered 6 things interesting and 3 question. Today we just dicussed in our small table groups. After the discussion, we wrote on a yellow piece of paper about the disagreement and agreement of the policy. I sticked mine right in the middle, because I cannot disagree or agree with it. Because, if there was no One-Child Policy and they let every married couple in China to have as many babies they want China's population will cover all over the world and there will be not enough sources and food to feed every people in China in the future. But it's also mean that they can have only one child and if they have more than one child the parents automatically lose their jobs. So I think they could find new policy that everyone likes.

Sonnet 7

I think that the Sonnet 7 means the sun rising and setting but also age and youth. Because when I heard and see what the musicians did today at class, Aidan was rising and setting and told us that they think it's sun rising and setting. Also at first only some of them started but when Aidan was in the middle they were all doing loudly together. When Aidan was going down they started to be quiet.

Lo! in the orient when the gracious light
Lifts up his burning head, each under eye

On this two lines I think it's the rising sun if I read carefully the thick letters.
Burning head=the sun.

Resembling strong youth in his middle age,
Yet mortal looks adore his beauty still,

It could be the sun and it's noon because 'middle age' can be the sun on the middle of the sky.

From his low tract, and look another way:
So thou, thyself outgoing in thy noon

I think it means that the sun is setting. Because I think the another way means that it's looking at West where it sets.

I think that William Shakespeare spoke figuratively to life of a person to the sun.
When son rise you are young when sun sets you are old. So I think this poem is very hard however, also very interesting.
Sonnet 7

Lo! in the orient when the gracious light
Lifts up his burning head, each under eye
Doth homage to his new-appearing sight,
Serving with looks his sacred majesty;
And having climb'd the steep-up heavenly hill,
Resembling strong youth in his middle age,
Yet mortal looks adore his beauty still,
Attending on his golden pilgrimage:
But when from highmost pitch, with weary car,
Like feeble age, he reeleth from the day,
The eyes, 'fore duteous, now converted are
From his low tract, and look another way:
So thou, thyself outgoing in thy noon
Unlooked on diest unless thou get a son.

Development of farming skills-Part 2

My grand father's farming skill is more developed than the people from the movie. He uses many different tools to farm not his hands. He doesn't raise animals such as cows, pigs or other animals that helps to farm. Instead, he has a tool that can make a place to seeds go in and grow. But in the movie they do by their hands or animals.

Development Of Farming Skills

While I was watching this movie, I noticed that farming is very important. in Korea I can see my grandfather farming without any animals such as cows. They do farming by their farming tools. To compare with the movie and my grandfather's farming skills, many years ago, they did by hands but my grandfather uses tools like people from many years after like us. I also saw that how the skills developing. they also use animals like cows, pigs and etc. But this is differnt in New Guinea. They don't use any animals because they don't have in New Guinea.

Where is the love by black eyed peas it tells about that they tryin to stop the terrorism but there are still terrorists in USA in the big CIA. so please listen to this song. It also tells you about the KKK. Thank you and leave comments please. Sorry but you can go to you tube and type Where Is The Love.

SPCA!!!

SPCA is a great place to adopt animals. But killing animals just by they don't have enough shelter is not fair for them. They also have a life. Life is important to everybody even to a dirty bug or animals such a mouse. I think that they could buy some part of land and put them in. If it's not enough, they could make a SPCA building in other states and keep them there. Maybe mnay people will adopt them. But I like the price of how they sell dogs and cats, maybe, just maybe, i could adopted or donate for them. Thank you and leave comments please!!
